For this test we were working with knitted fabric that could be used for making a blouse for women. First we used a template and a marker, and drew 4 squares on our fabric. Then we cut out those 4 samples and sewed each of them (edges together) so we created tubes that we could later use for the pilling test. When we had all 4 samples ready, we put them on a rubber tube using a metallic tube that made it easier. The samples were taped to the rubber tubes on both ends and put into one of the box that is part of the pilling machine. The pilling test took around 3 hours until it was finished.

When we were finished with this test, we took the samples out of the box, removed the rubber tubes and tape and compared the results with the fabric before the test. The pilling was barely visible, therefore we rated it 4 on a scale from 1 to 5 (1= a lot of pilling, 5=no pilling). This indicates a good quality of our material that could be used for a women's blouse.
